The End

William's big gift was waiting for him when we got home Christmas evening. He immediately loved it and said, "I'm a rock star."

William got some really fun things from Aunt Maggie and Sean and Grandpa and NeeNee. He kept making Sean follow him into his Lightning McQueen tent...Sean was so patient with him.

William FINALLY woke up at 10:30 Christmas morning. I was beginning to wonder if we were going to have to wake him up since we had to leave home around noon. He had so much fun in that time. He only made it through about half of his gifts from Santa before we had to leave. He unwrapped each one and wanted to play with it. We felt really bad making him leave his new toys. Aaron and I have decided next year we will ensure he is asleep earlier so he has more time to play. The benefit to having some gifts left was the fun continued when we got home Christmas evening.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve out with Pop, DeeDee, Aunt Claire and Grandma Rene. William got a ton of really nice gifts and had a lot of fun watching the train under the tree. He did a really good job saying "thank you" to everyone and enjoyed helping other people open their gifts.

The Happy Dance

Posted by Picasa
I didn't post these pictures before because we used them for our Christmas card. When we were decorating the tree in early December, we put Christmas music on for the first time. William danced like a wild man. His favorite song was a Motown version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

An Obsession with Santa Claus

My child has been awake the past five nights between 2 and 3am to ask if Santa has been to our house yet. I am beginning to get as excited about Christmas as he is... to see his reaction Christmas morning, and to hopefully sleep through the night again. Aaron is done with school for the semester, so he has been spending a lot of time with William. Yesterday, while I was at work, William and Aaron played Santa Claus for at least two hours.

William would sit on Aaron's lap and tell him what he wanted for Christmas, and would then pretend to sleep. Aaron said he would then say "turn the light back on Daddy." William would jump up with his mouth gaping open and his arms in the air with a look of pure surprise. After this, it was Aaron's turn to be the little boy and William got to be Santa Claus. William would ask Aaron if he had been a nice boy, and what he wanted for Christmas. At one point Aaron said something that William did not agree was a Christmas present, and William said, "no, Daddy you have to ask for a toy. You have to ask for the dragon castle."

Not only does he have to role play Santa Claus, I have to tell him a Santa story every night before bed. I think my best gift this year will be his reaction Christmas morning.

Breakfast with Santa

We headed to Eckert's Farm today for Breakfast with Santa. William was much happier to see Santa today. He also got to decorate a cookie.
