Our little reader

One of William's favorite things to do is read his books. He often climbs into his rocking chair to read to himself. Today, I just happened to have the camera nearby.

ECHO!!

William is really into demonstrating the word echo. Here is video proof. Enjoy!

Team in Training Kickoff

Tonight we took William with us to the Team in Training Kickoff. He was really well behaved considering he had to sit through a 30 minute presentation. He really had fun clapping with everyone. He also enjoyed sitting on Aaron's shoulders. I must say his binky came in handy tonight. At one point, I think everyone in the room could hear him "reading" his animal book. I don't normally give him his binky unless he is going to sleep, but it worked to muffle his talking tonight. I am sure the speaker was glad she wasn't interrupted with shouts of "hippos, giraffes, dogs, etc."

In case someone isn't aware, Aaron and I are training for the Walt Disney Marathon as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma's Team in Training. If you would like to donate to the society, our websites are listed on the blog. Any donation is much appreciated!

Glik Park

Yesterday afternoon, I took William to Glik Park. He really wanted to spend most of his time chasing the geese, but I was able to get him to swing for a bit. As you will see in the picture, he was fascinated by the airplane that flew over us.

Cardinals Hat

William will rarely keep a hat on his head, however, yesterday he did allow me to get a few quick pictures before ripping it off. I am pretty sure the only reason he tolerated it was he was watching "animals" on TV. He is obsessed with animals and he was watching his morning allotment of the Zoo video.

Aunt Claire, Can I Drive Your Car?

On Sunday, Aaron's family came to visit and William got to "test drive" Aunt Claire's car. You should have seen him when we made him come inside...it was ugly! I knew he liked cars, but was unaware of just HOW much he liked them.

A Visit with Adelle

We went to visit Jenna and Adelle Stanko today. We had a lot of fun. Adelle gave William lots of hugs, and she was very nice to share her toys. One of the pictures makes it look like they were wrestling. It is quite possible they were because William had a death grip on the toy elephant and zebra, and perhaps Adelle wanted to play with them.

Close Encounters of The Duck Kind

Today I took William to the park by Leclaire Lake. He was really excited to see the ducks in the lake and to ride the "tweet-tweets." At one point, I had to run the ducks off because he was close enough to touch them, and I wasn't so sure I could trust him or the ducks. He got really mad at me and yelled "NO, NO mama." Then he said "echo" because of how loud he yelled. Thankfully, that diffused the possible meltdown.

Cool down time????

We always let William watch about 20 minutes of a video before going into his room for books and bedtime. It usually helps him to settle down. For the past several weeks, Madagascar has been the movie of choice. He is obsessed with animals, so it is perfect. He normally sits in his chair or with us on the couch and is very calm for the movie viewing. However, tonight was a different story...it was an interactive cinema experience. I wonder if the chocolate had anything to do with this?!

William is 22 months!

Tonight we gave William a chocolate covered strawberry to celebrate the fact that he is 22 months. It is the first time he has ever had such a thing, but it didn't take him long to figure it out. It also didn't take us long to figure out chocolate is not a great idea within 2 hours of bedtime. He had way too much fun in the bath tonight, as is evident by the mohawk he was sporting.

Valerie and Mike's Wedding

I normally post pictures of William, but I thought I would put a picture of Aaron and I on here for once. This weekend we went to a wedding for our friends Mike and Val. We had a wonderful time, and stayed the night in St.Louis...so it was almost like a mini vacation. It was so nice to see old friends that live all over the country now. It was a very fun night!!

Pop's Toy Box

Before William was born, Rick made him a toy box. Well, it is no longer just a box for William's toys...it has become a place to play for William. Pop was SO right to reinforce the bottom to support a child standing in it...how did he know? Did he do this as a little boy????

Goin' to Work

William loved to carry Aaron's computer bag around the house the other night.

Laughter

At dinner, I shivered and William thought it was a riot. Here is video of him laughing at me pretending to shiver.

Daddy's Helper

Tonight, Aaron had to fix the garbage disposal. William had to be in the middle of the action. It was really cute!!

Mmmm, corn

William thoroughly enjoyed a piece of corn on the cob last night. In fact, he could not wait for me to cut it off the cob, so he ended up getting to eat it like a big boy....what a mess!!
