Mesh Man

William finds a game in just about anything. Today, it was the mesh gate that divides his play area from the rest of the basement.

Lightning McQueen

William decided he was Lightning McQueen (a character from the movie Cars). Here is the conversation that occurred between William and Daddy (William called Aaron Mater, another character from the movie.)

Tractors

We went to Home Depot tonight to pick up a latch to put on our front door. It only has a deadbolt, which William can now reach and unlock. In order to prevent his escape, we are going to install a latch very high up on the inside of the door.
He could have cared less about the reason we went to Home Depot, but boy was he happy to see these "tractors."

Basketball Man

William got to try out his basketball outfit today. You can almost see a bicep on his little arms. He had a good time shooting for two points in the basement...although at times he said home run...we are working on that.

Reunion

After four days apart, the gang is back together. William was so happy to see Mia and Davi today. It was nice to have a little bit of dry weather so the kids could play outside.

Spiderman or Robberson

William just recently started saying his full name....he still gets a little confused.

William's Tree

Daddy, Granddaddy, and Grandpa
William helping the grown ups

He is such a good helper

My parents invited us over for dinner tonight. My sister will be moving to Denver in about a month, so we are trying to have some quality family time before she leaves. Meme and Grandaddy (my mom's parents) also came over for dinner.

After dinner, we went outside to plant a tree. The tree which will now be called William's tree. He got to assist in planting it, by helping with the shovel and stomping on the dirt around the tree.

We had a few minutes of excitement when William and I happened upon a snake. He and I were walking down a set of rock steps in my parent's backyard, when I heard a strange sound. I thought it sounded like a rattlesnake. William was behind me and I turned around to see a snake about six inches from his leg. At this point, I scooped him up and ran as fast I could away from the snake.
I then told Aaron and Grandpa about the "rattle snake." They both informed me that it could not be a rattle snake. It wasn't....but they did find a 3 foot black snake. Which they...um.....took care of.
William was asking to see the snake, so we had to tell him it went home. He also kept telling me that I was scared...TRUE! I had to put on a brave face for him, so I told him I was just a little scared. Tonight at bedtime, he reminded me that I was scared of the snake and that "it's okay mommy, no snakes here."

Daddy Playtime

His new ride
Trying to show off his tractor to Mia and Davi...he said to Aaron, "where are my girls?"....HA

I love when the trees are in bloom

This morning William and Daddy played outside while I got ready for the day. We had purchased a new ride-on tractor for William at a big garage sale. He LOVES it!
He of course had to drive the tractor down to see Mia and Davi, but unfortunately they were not home.

Ice Cream Man

Spongebob before

Spongebob after
I hope I can get this out of his clothes

William had his first experience with the ice cream man today. He thoroughly enjoyed his Spongebob popsicle. He was a MESS when he was done, but it was well worth it.

Pining for Mia and Davi

Standing by their swing set
Knocking on their front door

Looking out from the landscaping asking about every car that drives by

On the look out

FINALLY....a distraction, roofers

The other day William wanted to visit his friends, but we knew they were gone. He did not believe us, so he stood in their yard waiting for them to return. Every car that drove by he would ask, "Is that Mia and Davi?"

Nose on the tree

This past weekend William through quite a fit about getting into his car seat when we were leaving Forest Park. I told him to put his nose on the tree (because there were no walls). We often use this technique instead of timeout, because he doesn't seem to care about timeouts. You can tell from this picture....he cares about this punishment.

After this little episode, he got in his car seat no problem.

Dino Boots

I have been eyeing a pair of rain boots for William. They finally went on sale, so I had to get them because he has been wanting to wear Davi's boots. They are a little big right now, but I am sure he will grow into them.

Only One Mia, Only One Davi

Aren't they sweet

Mia asked me to take her picture...isn't she darling

Goofballs

This weekend my parents watched William while Aaron and I participated in the half marathon. They took him to play with Mia and Davi, and their parents Paul and Val. Our next door neighbors name is also Val. On the way home, my mom and William ran into Val from next door.

Later on in the day, my mom said to William, "You saw two Vals today." William with his most serious scowl said, "Only one Val, only one Paul, only one Mia, only one Davi." He clearly has an obsession with his new friends.

Go! St. Louis Half Marathon

After the race...can you tell we are soaked?
Notice the festive fingernail polish...I'm just glad it came off

Runner's high?????

Can you tell how muddy and wet Aaron's shoes are? It was worth it!

The REASON!

Aaron and I raced in our first half marathon today as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Team in Training. We had a great time, despite the rain. It was quite an experience, and we are looking forward to our next race.

Go! St. Louis Kid's Fun Run

At the start
Psyching him up for his big event (notice his hands on his head...he is not so excited)

In line for the race

Waving to our adoring fans

The spectators (minus photog Daddy) Notice I am sporting the medal...he didn't even want to wear it

William competed in his first athletic event today. Well, I guess you could say we competed in it as a team. He was in a 50yd dash as part of the GO! St.Louis Race Weekend. He has been a little unsure of crowds lately, so I had to run with him for his race.

Playtime

We have been enjoying the nice weather the past few days with our friends Mia and Davi. William is also perfecting his baseball skills.
