First Cards Game

He was happy to have his own seat

A view from our seats

William and Grandpa

A little reading when the game got boring

One satisfied customer! (headed home)

Today we took William to his first Cardinals game. Grandpa got tickets at the last minute from a friend and we were lucky enough to be the chosen guests. William was not sure what to make of all of it at first, but had a really great time. He even got his own seat!

Leclaire Lake

We went to play at the park this morning. William is getting quite skilled at climbing and sliding all by himself. Today he had his first experience on a real see-saw....he was REALLY excited. We also got very close to some geese.

Oh no, Mama!!!!

This morning, William was in his booster seat eating yogurt and cereal for breakfast. I stepped around the corner for a second to grab a basket out of the laundry room and heard him say, "Oh no, Mama!" The following pictures explain why he had breakfast and a bath before 8a.m.

The Geese

William wanted to play with the geese this morning at the lake. I wouldn't let him get too close. Aaron said that this was probably too close as it is, because geese like to charge. In my defense, there were two little boys feeding the geese out of their hands before I let William get close. If you listen carefully you can hear him say "Hi, goose."

Boys in Hats

William had to have his hat on the same way as Aaron. I was surprised he kept it on so long. I hope he will start enjoying hats since winter is coming soon.

Little Elf

I was getting William's fall clothes out of the guest room closet and found the Christmas pj's that Grandma D bought him. We did a trial run, and he loved them.

Canister Drive

This was Aaron's lonely station. He took the picture and he had the far door.

Today Aaron and I had our first canister drive for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It was successful, and actually a lot of fun. It was interesting to stand for five hours after our long training run, but we made it.

Invisible

Tonight at dinner William decided to play a game of peek a boo. It almost sounds like he is saying invisible...don't you think?

A Visit with Great Grandma Rene and Pop

Today, I took William out to visit with Rene and Rick. He had a good time playing trains and petting the dog.

Fall Clothes

I had to sneak William into these overalls before he outgrew them. This was the first cool day we had.

Counting

William believes in counting with the numbers 2 and 9. You can hear it in this video. You can also see how is imagination is really starting to blossom.

Tractors and Animals

William LOVES tractors and animals. Here he is playing with two of his favorites.

Flood Watch Part 2

East Lake Drive, which is the first road to the right of our subdivision was washed away
The road has washed away and the water mane underneath broke

As you can see the water is all headed to the lake
This is the first house as you enter our neighborhood...their side yard is now a lake.

Flood Video #2

Here is a video of the aftermath at East Lake Dr.

Flood Watch 2008 Part 1

The front of our subdivision can you see the top of the fire hydrant
This is normally a valley
Notice the flooded sidewalk
Rushing water
This is a backyard....YIKES!

This morning Aaron and I attempted to leave our subdivision to go out to celebrate Aunt Claire's birthday! Sorry Aunt Claire, but the water had different ideas. The entrance to our subdivision is flooded.

I will post a video separately.

Flood Video Part 1

This is the video from about an hour ago.

How BIG are you?

I am not sure that William truly understands that he cannot ride the school bus with the Fisher Price Little People.

Pajamas and a bicycle

William turned 23 months old today. I really can't believe he is almost 2. After bath time tonight, he was insistent on riding his bicycle (which in his pronunciation sounds more like eye-cycle). Since it is probably the last rain free night for several days, I decided to take him outside in his pj's. The only problem is the "bicycle" we have for him is too big and his feet don't reach the pedals. It has a handle that parents can push, but that lasts all of about two minutes and then he wants to push. He ended up pushing the bicycle about 1/2 a mile....he has some energy. I think I know one thing we may be getting him for his birthday...a proper sized tricycle. He also loved finding ants and bugs on the sidewalk, and he was fascinated by the sound the street sign makes when he bangs on it.

Nice look, pj's and shoes
This will be neat to show him one day

My Big Boy

This morning we were getting ready to go to the babysitters, and it struck me that he looked so old in his outfit. He is entranced by the Mickey Mouse show on TV, so I was able to get a quick picture of him standing still.

Big Shoes, Mama

I took William to get tennis shoes that fit him for the fall. When we got home, he kept requesting his "big shoes, mama." These were the best pictures I could get because once I put them on he would not stop moving. I wonder if he already thinks he runs faster and jumps higher with new shoes.

Singing

On the way home from Eckert's, William began "singing" in the car. It was really cute, so I thought I would share. He was also eating some yummy french fries...a real treat for him. This was a junk food weekend for the little guy it seems.

A Trip to Eckert's Farm

William and Daddy enjoy an apple

Such a big boy, his own apple.

Apples and Corn....he was in heaven (his two favorite foods)

Nap time!

Bugs and Ice Cream

We gave William his own ice cream cone tonight, and he made quite a mess. While he was eating it, a bug landed on his chair and he jumped up. It was so funny because then he wanted to find the bug. I hope the video relays this story.

Fountain

There is a big fountain at Glik Park. William was so happy that Aaron could help him touch the water.
