Despite the yucky weather, we had a fun day. William wore his "baseball shirt" as he calls it. Since we couldn't go outside much, he asked to play baseball in the house. At one point he told Aaron, "Daddy you be a Cardinal."
After the rain stopped, we went outside to look for fireworks. We could hear them going off all over our neighborhood. William rode his bike around looking for fireworks, but couldn't see too many. We decided to stick him in the car and drive towards St. Louis, so that he might get to see the Fair St. Louis fireworks from the comfort of his car seat. It worked out well. As we reached downtown, traffic came to a complete stand still, and William got to see a majority of the fireworks. We could even hear the loud noises they made. He quickly fell asleep on the way home, and we managed to transfer him to his bed without waking him. All in all, it turned out to be a great first fireworks experience for him.
I'm gonna need a flatbed for the teen years!
